Holidays can be challenging when you are juggling food allergies, especially for kids with allergies. No one wants to be deprived of the fun, and no parent wants their kid to feel left out. Easter is coming up, and with some planning, you can enjoy the holiday with everyone included (and happy!).
Every child (and adult) should be able to enjoy Easter goodies even if they have food allergies. Here are my tips for making an allergy-friendly Easter Basket, filled with non-food items and allergy-friendly organic treats!
Steps to making an allergy-friendly Easter Basket
1. Pick a non-food featured item that your child will LOVE! I like to start with one larger item to really spoil them. I pick out the gift based on my child’s current interests. In the past I’ve done stuffed animals (like the cute stuffed bunny in these baskets). Building blocks, action figures, books, or equipment for your child’s favorite sport are also great featured items.
2. Fill up your allergy-friendly Easter basket with candy and treats that are safe for your child’s food allergies. I’ve talked about them before on Flippin’ Delicious, so you already know we love YumEarth’s organic candies and allergy-friendly treats. They are all free of soy, egg, dairy, fish, shellfish, peanuts, tree-nuts, gluten/wheat, and they are also free of artificial dyes and high fructose corn syrup.
My kids go crazy for YumEarth Organic Giggles and YumEarth Organic Fruit Snacks. They were especially excited to break open these allergy-friendly Fruit Snacks snack packs. (And I love that some of YumEarth Fruit Snacks proudly display their alliance with FARE)
Check out YumEarth’s special Easter collection, and stock up using code SWEETS15 for 15% off! (Promo code expires on 4/30/21).
