Statement from the YumEarth Leadership Team

To our YumEarth community — and especially to those in the allergy community,

We have heard from many of you regarding our update on the recent labeling change on some of our products, and we want to thank you for speaking up. We are truly sorry for the confusion and concern this has caused. You deserve clarity and confidence when choosing our products. Your trust means everything to us, and we take your concerns very seriously.

This issue is personal to us. Many members of our YumEarth team live with food allergies or have family members who do. We understand firsthand the importance of clear labeling and safe products.

From the beginning, our mission has been simple: to make better-for-you candy in a world where ingredients and allergens are not always handled with the care they deserve. The food industry is complex and regulations continue to evolve, and it is our responsibility to evolve with them — while always putting our community first.

Why this labeling change happened

Some of our products use a processing aid made from gluten-free wheat starch during the molding process. This processing aid is part of the production process only. We have added a “CONTAINS WHEAT” statement on the package, even if the finished product does not contain detectable levels. While our recipes themselves have not changed, our labels have — in an effort to provide clearer transparency to our consumers.

We have always conducted industry-standard allergen testing using ELISA methods for gluten and gliadin (a wheat protein), and we remain committed to the highest safety and quality standards.  In light of your feedback, here is our commitment moving forward:

Our commitment moving forward

We know that “safe” means different things to different families depending on individual allergies and sensitivities. We also know that trust must be earned and re-earned every day.

We are taking the following actions:

  • Continuing best-in-class allergen testing and exploring new testing methods as they become available
  • Continuing efforts to identify alternative processing aids
  • Enhancing how we communicate changes so our community receives clearer, more proactive information
  • We have updated our FAQs to include new information

Your feedback is helping guide these next steps, and we are grateful for your honesty and engagement.

If you have questions or concerns, we encourage you to reach out directly to our team at support@yumearth.com. We are listening, and we are here for you.

With appreciation and sincerity,

The YumEarth Team

What are your allergen protocols?

YumEarth products do not contain gluten.
