Fun At-Home Hands-On Learning Activities
If there's one thing my 5 year-old loves, it's school. She's a studious one - always so eager to learn new skills no matter how big or small the task may be. At this age, she thinks everything is just playing. And that's the way I want to keep it. I think a big part of her eagerness to learn comes from wanting to be like her older sister, but I also know that she thoroughly enjoys school because we make it so fun for her. To keep things fresh and engaging, I'm always on the hunt for exciting ways to teach Matea new skills. These interactive Pre-K worksheets have definitely made learning way more fun and tasty, too!
To get started, all you need are the following:
- Free Printable Worksheets - Counting Free Printable // Pre-K Patterns Free Printable // PreSchool Shapes Free Printable
- A pack crayons or markers
Your favorite assortment of YumEarth treats! We used YumEarth’s new Organic Chewys & YumEarth Organic Giggles. You can use my exclusive code - SWEETS15 - for 15% off on YumEarth.com from now until 4/30/21 AND you’ll get free shipping on all orders over $40!
When completing these activities, I find that giving Matea a variety of different colors and shapes makes learning much easier for her. This is especially true when we're doing the patterns activity and counting because she can visually see the differences. Luckily, both these dye-free candy treats came in a variety of colors to choose from. As an added bonus, I chose these 2 treats because they're different shapes (and delicious flavors!).
Chewys is YumEarth's newest candy, and each one packs a punch. There's so much flavor in every square! It's a perfect balance of sweet-meets-tangy in every bite. I love that each one comes individually wrapped, so using them on these worksheets practically makes things mess-free. And because they are allergy-friendly, I never have to worry about Matea having any nut or fish reaction to their candy. All of their products do not include the top 8 allergens including gluten, nuts (peanut and tree nuts), dairy, fish, shellfish, soy, and egg.
YumEarth Giggles candy is also great for all the worksheets, especially the shapes one. That's because they're the perfect size for this activity. This fruity, organic chewy candy is also allergy-friendly with simple, organic ingredients, no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial dyes, and no GMOs! I like grabbing the 5 oz. bag for these activities, but if you're looking for individual snack packs to toss in their lunch bag, the larger size is great. It comes with 10 snack packs to enjoy.
Hope you guys enjoyed these fun (and tasty) learning activities. Don't forget to reward yourself and your little one after they complete each worksheet. That's probably the best part!
